NEW COLLECTIVES IN THE STIEMER VALLEY - THE MASTERPLAN OF THE STIEMER VALLEY

In the light of the New Climatic Regime the Masterplan of the Stiemer Valley tries to define and clarify human and non-human agencies in the transformation of the Stiemerbeek in Genk. The design team developed a masterplan for the Stiemer Valley. Implying not one element – the creek – but a territory – the valley. In this urbanized valley a whole ecology of human and non-human agents interact to create a “world”. Two actors play a key-role: the parallel creek and the linear gardens. They both are an expression of the interaction between the human and the non-human. They both are able to intensify the agencies of human, non-human and hybrid collectives in shaping their world.
